Adjectives
Adjectives generally precede the noun, and take nominal inflections for person. Some are irregular and some follow the noun.
bad: bas, banni, basta. This adjective follows the noun.
familiar, usual, common: baŋiye, baŋini, baŋida.
unfamiliar, unusual. Derived from baŋi ‘usual’.
warm, hot: calaye, calani, calada.
cold, cool, not warm: ciliye, cilini, cilida.
blotchy or dirty, with large splotches, blotches, or spots.
good, valued: geye, geni, geda. This adjective follows the noun.
other, another, next.
rough, uneven, hurtful: kaduye, kaduni, kaduda.
holy, sacred.
skillfully made, fine.
light in color, shiny: luye, luni, loda.
young, unripe.
all, all of something, whole: naye, nani, nada.
one, single, alone: naje, nanni, nasta. This adjective follows the noun.
dead: noŋiye, noŋini, noŋida.
mournful, mourning, grieving
big, large: oñe, onni, onda. This adjective follows nouns.
few, some, a small number: peye, penni, peda. This adjective follows nouns.
tall, high, vertically extended: siŋiye, siŋini, siŋeda.
new, newly-made, newly discovered.
flowing, blowing with the wind: tanaye, tanani, tanada.
smooth, slick, slippery: yagaye, yagani, yagada.
dark in color: zeye, zeni, zeda.
enough, sufficient
many, a large number: ŋeye, ŋenni, ŋeda. This adjective follows nouns.
